| | Here are some
of the typical questions new customers ask:-
 |
Q: "What's your
Call-Out
Fee? |
 | A: We prefer to use
the term FIXED RATE CHARGE and that is based on the time and travelling distance
to your home. (Do
please check our coverage map to be sure we cover your area!). We will
advise you on request, before calling, as to the cost. The benefit of a Fixed Rate means
fairer, more competitive pricing. Do be aware that some companies that advertise 'NO CALL
OUT FEE' and 'FREE ESTIMATES' very often charge whatever they can get away
with once their foot is in the door. Our charges are open and transparent
and the same rates apply to all our customers. For your own peace of mind do
please ask what the rates are when booking an appointment. Remember, with us
there are no hidden charges and what's more, no VAT to pay either! |
 |
Q: "How much will it
cost? |
 | A:
Many faults are commonplace and we are experienced enough to
tell from the symptoms given as to what may be wrong and how much it is likely
to cost. However, sometimes the symptoms given can be vague or difficult to
diagnose, therefore an inspection visit may well be
necessary....... Many of our customers mistakenly conclude that the "Programme
Timer" is faulty whenever a washing machine breaks down. The more likely
reason is due to a some minor component failure, a possible blockage, or
simply just a loose
connection leading many to believe the problem is much worse than it
actually is. In reality it very often isn't and Programme Timer failure is very
rare indeed. |
 | Q: "If I tell you what's
wrong, will you tell me what it will cost and if it's worth fixing?" |
 | A: Yes....If
you can establish beforehand exactly what the problem is (e.g. Door Seal
perished, Door Latch broken, Pump faulty) we will advise you
on the likely cost over the telephone based on the
information given. Do please give us as much information as possible (i.e.
Make, Model, Serial Number/Product Number etc). |
 | Q: "My
machine is 5yrs old, they're only designed to last that long anyway are'nt
they?" |
 | A: No....A
popular myth brought about most likely by those that wish to sell you a new
machine!! It is simply not true, machines designed and built pre
2000 are sure to last 10 to 15 years on average. Your machine has been built
to a higher specification and reliability level than those built today. In
today's aggressive manufacturing industry, manufacturers are forced
into cutting costs more than ever leading to sub-standard products. Today's
popular brands are a poor investment and you are well advised to have your
machine repaired..... Besides, think of the cost saving by getting it fixed
and back into working order as being far better than the aggravation and
expense of disposing of your machine and getting a new one installed in it's
place! |
 | Q: "Will the man have the
parts on the van when he calls? |
 | A: We carry very comprehensive
stocks on the van of the most common parts that wear out or are easily
broken (e.g. Pumps, Motors, Belts, Seals, Door Handles, Hoses etc.). Parts
not in stock are usually available from our suppliers on a 'Next Day Delivery'
basis, and we will quickly return and complete the repairs. However, it's worth
noting that currently over 88% of
service calls we make are completed on the first visit! |
 | Q:
" Is your work guaranteed?"
|
 | A: Yes...All
work done and parts fitted*
are guaranteed for 1 year. (*excluding
door handles, filters, lamps, heating elements and cosmetic appearance parts
- i.e. fascia panels, plastic trims, inspection covers etc) |
